The Truth About Botox Alternatives.
Are there non-injectable alternatives to Botox? Yes and no. You've probably seen some of those ads claiming "Better Than Botox?" -- the ridiculous nonsense about how a stretch-mark cream can remove wrinkles? Does this product work?
Listen to what consumer advocate and beauty expert Paula Begoun says about one of these products, "If you are still wondering if there is any way possible that [product's name] might somehow be better than Botox, the short answer is no - and that means no way, and no how."
But, there is a serious contender for the title of "Botox Alternative"..... Scientists in Spain have discovered a compound called Acetyl Hexapeptide-3, which anecdotal evidence suggests, offers the same results as Botox without needles or the risk of damage to the skin or facial muscles. In other words, many doctors believe, Acetyl Hexapeptide-3 has a similar mechanism of action as Botox... without the toxicity and costs.
The New York Times quoted an expert on Acetyl Hexapeptide-3 as saying: "It [Acetyl Hexapeptide-3] aims to have properties similar to the botulinum toxin and can theoretically act on the same nerve-muscle connection that Botox works on. Botox breaks the connection, deadening the muscle, while [Acetyl Hexapeptide] merely inhibits the connection, which could relax the muscle."
Here is what Dr. Sumayah Jamal, MD (assistant professor ofdermatology at the NYU School of Medicine in New York City) says on Acetyl Hexapeptide-3 in WebMD: The Acetyl Hexapeptide-3 attempts to mimic that same Botox action by blocking the action of the protein. It doesn't destroy the protein, like Botox does, says Jamal, but instead simply keeps it from connecting to the cell and turning on the muscle contraction. The end result, she says, may be similar to medical procedures, just much less dramatic.
So In Simple Terms What Exactly Does Acetyl Hexapeptide-3 Do?Here's The Full Story...
